Calvay Tenants’ Day – Saturday 16th September
TPAS were out and about on 16th September, as New TPAS members, Calvay HA hosted a tenants’ day to celebrate the re-opening of the Calvay Centre.
Eveline and Tony were chatting to Calvay tenants about becoming more involved and about how they can engage with Calvay to shape the community’s housing future. Residents attending were also invited to join a newly formed Calvay scrutiny group.
It was a fabulous day. Tenant’s flocked in to see what was happening and soon discovered face painters; a petting zoo – with snakes, ferrets, rats, and spiders; dancers; balloon modelling; a lady on stilts; lots of information stalls; home baking; raffles and more… There was something there for everyone. Calvay staff were also on hand throughout the day.
Wider Role Manager, Ali Smith said “We’re delighted to say that just over £1000 was raised on Saturday. This money will go back to the community providing much needed services at the Calvay Centre”.
Tony said “Calvay Tenants’ Day was great fun. Loads of stalls, including a petting zoo animal experience, fair rides and free ice cream – the kids loved it! Well done everyone”.
