Fireworks and Pyrotechnics Bill

The Criminal Justice Committee at the Scottish Parliament is the lead committee examining the Scottish Government’s proposals in the Fireworks and Pyrotechnic Articles (Scotland) Bill. MSPs want to hear from you on your views about the Bill.

The Committee is keen to make sure that the views of community and special interest groups are included, and has created an online conversation on our engagement website.  To support this we have created a conversation guide for facilitators which is attached to this email. This has been designed for those who work with groups to have discussions with them that can feed into the online discussion. If you would like to discuss alternative formats or additional resources to better support engagement, please get in touch. We can for example run a session for a group. We would be very happy to help.

We have also made an explainer video. You can download it from this link. You can use this in any direct communications, or for your own tweets on your own social media. We are using #FireworksBill if you wish to do the same.

In addition to this there is the option for a more full detailed response to each of the key provisions in the Bill please complete our written submission form.

Download the Conversation Toolkit here.

The deadline for submissions is 11th March 2022.
