Board Changes at TPAS Scotland
TPAS Scotland is entering an exciting new chapter with some changes to our Board leadership.
At the end of September, Malcolm (Barney) MacKay stepped down from his role as Chair of the Board after many years of dedicated service. Barney has been a passionate advocate for tenant participation and engagement, and his leadership has played a huge part in shaping TPAS Scotland’s work and values.
Barney leaves to take up an exciting new role as Chair of the Board at Hebridean Housing Partnership. Everyone at TPAS Scotland, both staff and Board, would like to express our sincere thanks for his long-standing commitment, energy, and vision. We wish him every success in his new position.
We would also like to acknowledge Janet Strang, who has decided to step down from her position as Vice Chair due to other commitments. Janet continues to serve as a valued member of the Board, and we’re grateful for her ongoing contribution and support.
Welcoming Our New Chair and Vice Chair
We’re delighted to announce that Dominic Brookes, a respected member of the TPAS Scotland Board, has been elected as our new Chair. Dominic will be supported by Gordon Campbell from South Ayrshire Council, who steps into the role of Vice Chair.
Speaking on his appointment, Dominic said:
“I am delighted to take up the role as Chair of the Board of TPAS Scotland. It is an important time for tenant engagement in Scotland. On the back of the How social landlords support tenants to engage research and report, undertaken by TPAS Scotland on behalf of the Scottish Government, tenants highlighted that they must feel, and see, that their contribution is meaningful, valued, and can result in change.
As Chair of the Board, it is my personal ambition to make this happen. I am delighted to be supported in my role by Vice Chair, Gordon Campbell, and my fellow board members, who all make an invaluable contribution.”
TPAS Scotland looks forward to continuing its mission to strengthen tenant participation and ensure every tenant voice is heard and respected under the guidance of our new leadership team.
